Day 3 and still STRONG
This morning the Vulcans continued to set record breaking swims. The meet began when Freshman Georgia Emert swam the 400 yard individual medley in a time of 4:35.75, which has her seated second place going in to tonight. Her time was also an NCAA B qualifying time and a school record. The 100 yard butterfly was next. Ellie Imhof swam a personal best of 1:01.12 and finished in 20th. Bruna Carvalho swam a 59.36 and will be swimming tonight in the consolation heat. Senior Ester Bosch touched in wall with an NCAA B qualifying time of 58.57 and will be swimming tonight in the final heat. The 200 yard freestlye starred Kelly Geras and Rachel Kurta. Both swimmers will be swimming tonight in the consolation heat. Geras finished in a time of 1:58.70 and Kurta touched in at 1:57.84. The 100 yard breaststroke was next with Melissa Gates and Caitlyn Sirkoch swimming for the Vulcans. Sirkoch swam a time of 1:08.62 and finished in 17th place, just missing the consolation heat. Gates swam a time of 1:06.41 and will be swimming in the final heat tonight in 6th place. The final event of the morning was thrilling! Freshman Kasey Travitz swam the 100 yard backstroke and touched the wall with a time of 59.45. She will be swimming in the final heat this evening in 7th place. The time achieved was also an NCAA B qualifying time. As the Vulcans continue to tear up the pool, the coaches remain impressed. The Vulcans look forward to the great opportunities that lie ahead of them tonight. The Vulcans go into tonight in 6th place.
