Day 2 Prelimes
This morning began day 2 of the 4 day NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships. The meet began with the 200 yard freestyle relay. Last night Sophomore Melissa Gates swam the 50 yard freestyle and came out in 4th place overall with a time of 23.32. She was the only swimmer of the night for the Vulcans

The NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships began early this morning in Canton, Ohio. The Vulcans began the meet with Georgia Emert in the 200 individual medley. NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
The NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS will begin tomorrow morning at 10:30am! The Vulcans have six swimmers who are competing in the meet. Canton, Ohio welcomed the team late in the afternoon on Monday. The team arrives early to get settled, practice in the pool, and participate in NCAA events.

Cal Finishes 5th Overall
Tonight was the final night of competition of the PSAC Championship. Going in to tonight the Vulcans were in 6th place. The Vulcans finished the meet in 5th place overall. West Chester took home the win for both men and women.
The night began with Geeorgia Emert in the 200 yard backstroke. Emert came in 6th place with a time of 2;07.73.

The Final Day
It’s the final day of the four day PSAC Championship Meet. This morning the Vulcans had all personal best times in every race. The meet began when Kasey Travitz dominated her heat in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:12.52. Following her was Meghan Schuh in the next heat who swam a time of 2:13.19. Next was Georgia Emert who made the NCAA “B” qualifying time with a 2:07.41...
A Record Breaking Saturday Night
Tonight the Vulcans came out strong! The night began when the 200 yard medly relay of Kasey Travitz, Caitlyn Sirkoch, Bruna Carvalho, and Rachel Kurta finished in 9th place with a time of 1:49.50. This morning the Vulcans continued to set record breaking swims. The meet began when Freshman Georgia Emert swam the 400 yard individual medley in a time of 4:35.75, which has her seated second place going in to tonight. Tonight the Vulcans began with an astonishing 200 yard freestyle relay. The relay of Melissa Gates, Rachel Kurta, Caitlyn Sirkoch, and Ester Bosh touched the wall in 1:36.02, an NCAA Qualifying time which got them second place. This morning the Vulcans swims gave the coaches goosebumps. The morning began early at 10:00am. Freshman Kelly Geras and Meghan Schuh were the first to swim. The Vulcans had as great start to the first session. Freshman Meghan Schuh went a season best time in the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:04.65. She finished in 24th place. The Vulcans will travel to Cumberland Valley High School for the start of the PSAC Championships early Thursday morning. The meet beings Thursday evening and will continue through Sunday evening. GATES IS ON FIRE
MELISSA GATES CONTINUES TO STUN FANS! SHE WON THE 100 YARD FREESTYLE THIS EVENING IN A TIME OF 52.00 JUST MISSING THE NCAA A QUALIFYING TIME.
COMPETITION IS STILL GOING ON.
The Vulcans have 9 girls qualified for the PSAC Championship. They are expecting to have everyone qualified before the last dual meet. Keep up the hard work Ladies!

Cal U v. Gannon University
On Saturday November 7th, 2009 the California University of Pennsylvania Women’s Swimming Team competeted against Gannon University at 1:30pm. A Halloween Victory
Today at 3:00pm the California University of PA Women’s Swimming Team competed against Edinboro University and West Virginia Wesleyan. Going into the meet the Vulcans expected a close competition, but that was not the outcome. The Vulcans dominated in the pool and brought home two victories.
